On Saturday, March 13th at 11:00am EST our guest speaker will be Dr. Lauren Luedke of the Manor Equine. For this seminar, Dr. Luedke will be addressing "OCD: Why does it happen and what can we do about it?"
Originally from Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Dr. Luedke spent much of her childhood riding in the mountains and competing in the quarter horse and reining circuits. She was immersed in veterinary medicine very early at her father’s veterinary practice, and she followed in her father’s and brother’s footsteps by attending Colorado State University for her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. Dr. Luedke then moved to Oakdale, California, completing an equine internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital, a practice with an intensive lameness and surgery caseload. She then completed a second internship at Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists (located on the backstretch of the Belmont Racetrack), which gave her a complete introduction to the Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing industries. She was fortunate enough to stay with Cornell as a resident in large animal surgery, and there she was involved in several research projects pertaining to upper airway disease and breakdown injuries in racehorses. Dr. Luedke joined the Manor Equine team in Summer 2020 as an associate surgeon and sports medicine specialist. |
